Hi all... amitabha :)
Tzu Chi KL will be having 13 sessions of study fund giving ceremony on the first three Sundays of November. This study fund aims to provide financial aid to primary and secondary students from poor families, of all races.
After getting in touch with the schools, Tzu Chi volunteers paid visits to around 4000 families. Through the home visits, the volunteers discovered many cases, where the families are living in difficulties...
One of those families is living in a house without a street name. However, the volunteers didn't give up and was finally able to find the family. The roof of the house is torn off, there're no tiles but soil and stones on the floor, no study table and chair, and there even aren't any electricity and water supply. For over twenty years, the family depends on a kerosene for light, that's over seven thousand nights... However, despite the poor living conditions, where the family has to sleep together in a bedroom without a door, mattress, and pillow; there are around twenty trophies and awards neatly arranged at a corner of the wall, silently telling us that the children are yearning for knowledge...
After the home visits, the volunteers have also helped some of the families to clean their house, repaired the torn roof, provided them with food, etc. These actions have provided a light of hope, and warm the hearts of the 4000 families...
Over 4000 applications have been approved after the home visits and evaluations. This study fund giving ceremony, is held to give financial aid to each of the student. In this meaningful ceremony, not only will the families receive financial aid, but they also receive the message that everyone can do his/her part in lending a helping hand to those who are in need. There will be section for the students, section for the parents, and section for the teachers.
MMU Tzu Chi Collegians will be in charge of the following session:
Date: 16/11 (the first Sunday in next trimester)
Time: 2pm - 5pm
Venue: Kompleks Rakan Muda, Puchong
Section: Bamboo bank
Main program: Promote the concept of bamboo bank (little savings can mean a lot), and respect parents and elderly, via story telling and drama
